Constitutional Duties:
- Primarily responsible for the internal operations of the Student Union Assembly.
- Helps to coordinate the campus-wide internal campaigns in coordination with the Organizing Director and any other applicable SUA officer, intern, committee, subcommittee, task force, campus organization or campus unit.
- Acts as substitute for the Chair in his/her absence
- Serves as chair of the Student Committee on Committees.
- Assists the Chair in carrying out SUA directives.
- Coordinates student participation on all campus-wide committees, boards, and task forces including all academic senate and administrative committees.
- Required to hold weekly office hours at the SUA office.
- Attends weekly officer meeting(s) to ensure communication and collaboration.
- Prepares a monthly report evaluating the SUA, which provides constructive criticism, for the purposes of improvement.
- Carryout any other duties as set forth in this constitution, the bylaws, and/or as assigned by the Assembly and/or Chair.
- Shall use the Executive Vice Chair of the Student Committees on Committees to help run the appointment process of SCOC and run the partnership. The Internal Vice Chair shall work or be a resource on all internal campus wide issues that come forth from the SCOC, e^2: Engaging Education, Campus Sustainability Council or the Student Union Assembly.

Interns
I. Chief of Staff to the Internal Vice Chair: Guillermo Rogel – grogel@ucsc.edu
1. Assist with event coordination as directed by the Internal Vice Chair
2. Meet with the Internal Vice Chair weekly.
3. Act as liaison for the Internal Vice Chair when he cannot attend specified events and meetings.
4. Attend all Student life/outreach committee meetings and SUA General body meetings as specified by the Internal Vice Chair
5. Co-manage credit interns, as directed by the Internal Vice Chair.
6. Arrange and attend quarterly college senate meetings and report back to the Office of Internal Affairs.
8. Facilitate team-building exercises and similar activities with the Office of Internal Affairs quarterly.
9. Collect and enforce monthly reports from interns.
11. Shall attend meetings with UCSC Administration, as requested by the Internal Vice Chair.
12. Attend all Internal Vice Chair staff meetings.
II. SUA Communications Director: SHO KETCHUM - sketchum@ucsc.edu
1. Assist with event coordination, as directed by the Internal Vice Chair.
2. Meet with the Internal Vice Chair weekly.
3. Act as liaison for the Internal Vice Chair when he cannot attend specified events and meetings.
4. Attend all Student life/outreach committee meetings and SUA General body meetings as specified by the Internal Vice Chair .
7. Call and facilitate monthly Council of Chairs meetings.
8. Attend the CPC’s meeting quarterly to ensure communication between the SUA and Colleges.
9. Assist and present all resolutions or referendums created from the Office of Internal Affairs.
10. Work with Sustainability council on zero waste projects and attend their meetings at least once a quarter.
11. Organize monthly meetings with Campus Police and advise the Internal Vice Chair on campus safety issues.
12. Attend Student Organization events and Athletic games as assigned to support campus spirit.
13. Organize and Attend bi-monthly meetings with campus media (CHP, KZSC).
14. Shall attend meetings with UCSC Administration, as requested by the Internal Vice Chair
15. Attend all Internal Vice Chair staff meetings.
III. Director of Student Life: SAMANTHA VEGA – snvega@ucsc.edu
1. Be the main coordinator of SUA’s involvement in Summer Orientation and move-in week.
2. Provides Programs and Activities for the student body, including but not
limited to concerts, college dodge ball tournaments, battle of the bands, campus wide capture the flag, free food, dance parties, hot dog eating contests, creation of large thought provoking banners, creation of community gardens, SUA puppy bowl, mud wrestling and body paint, large scale art and expression projects, slip and slide, bubble party, weekly TV series showings, movie nights, and other fun activities for student orgs.
3. Build relationships between the SUA and SOAR organizations, specifically
sustainability, SOAR, student media, department, college, OPERS, and all other
student orgs.
4. Work with SUA entities on publicizing and improving outreach events, for
example making events sustainable, making events accessible, and
communicating SUA events to the student body.
5. Works on long range development plan of campus life at UCSC including but not limited to improving athletic programs, music and arts facilities, Student Union, programming and organizing spaces, and the amphitheater.

1. Assist with event coordination as directed by the Internal Vice Chair
2. Meet with the Internal Vice Chair weekly and attend any other staff meetings as directed by the Internal Vice Chair
3. Attend all student life/outreach committee meetings and SUA general body meetings as specified by the Internal Vice Chair
4. Facilitate team-building exercises and similar activities with the Office of Internal Affairs quarterly.
5. Oversees volunteer compliance during large community events, follows specific policies and procedures regarding safety issues and follows volunteer guidelines
6. Builds relationships with supporters of different campus organizations and community programs.
7. Assists in developing and organizing new programs under the office of internal affairs
8. Develops educational materials such as pamphlets, fliers, and other brochures that describes the specifics of an upcoming community event
9. Evaluates volunteer performance levels to make sure volunteers are contributing in the most effective ways.
